Restricted cylinders (Mul-T-Lock Interactive+, Medeco M3, ASSA Twin) take longer but still without damage — we'd rather spend 45 minutes picking than 5 minutes drilling. Frozen lock in January? We carry de-icer and a heated graphite probe on every truck.
Rekeying re-pins the cylinder you already own — old keys stop working, new keys cut on-site, hardware never leaves the door. Costs less than a new lock and is the right call when the cylinder is in good shape. If the lock is over 10 years old, sticking, or worn we'll say so on the spot — a tired cylinder won't hold a rekey clean.
Most failures are mechanical and recoverable: sticky deadbolt cleaned and re-lubed with PTFE (never WD-40), loose latches re-aligned, sagging hinges shimmed, worn strike plates replaced. New install? Vans are stocked with Schlage B60N, Weiser Smartkey, Kwikset 980 and Mul-T-Lock MT5+ in standard finishes — no second trip.
